Avoiding Surgery Using Physical Therapy

When it comes to extreme pain, it can be very difficult to hear the word “surgery” from your doctor.  Although it is definitely an option, many people don’t realize that physical therapy can be a way to avoid having to go through surgery altogether.  The pain relief and movement benefits that physical therapy can provide gives patients a proven method of improving your quality of life so that you may not have to undergo surgery.

If you needed proof, look no further than our recent patient Ronald.  After osteoarthritis caused worsening knee pain, Ronald was told that major knee surgery would be necessary.  Unconvinced that this was his only option, Ronald decided to go to physical therapy first to see if he could improve his situation.

We are happy to report that Ronald has improved his condition immensely with a individually tailored physical therapy program, carefully crafted and implemented by Dr. James and Humberto.  His pain has significantly reduced, and surgery is no longer necessary, as he is able to now able to get back to normal daily activities with minimal discomfort!

“Having been diagnosed earlier with osteoarthritis, my doctor recommended that I undergo right knee replacement. However, I thought of going to physical therapy first, hoping that my walking and other activities would improve.
There has been a marked improvement in my daily routine as well as my outlook on life. I feel a lot, lot better now.
Apart from the excellent treatment, the personal attention from the therapists, their able assistants and staff all contributed immensely to the improvement in my physical well being.
I’ll have no second thought in recommending CPR to my friends and family.
My profound thanks to the CPR family for their personal attention, care, and compassion during my physical therapy sessions.”
