March 9, 2007. Wow. In the blink of of an eye, we come into the office today to celebrate 10 whole years since our Jersey City Physical Therapy clinic first opened.
In the 10 years since, we've solidified our status as the longest running, Physical Therapist-owned clinic in downtown Jersey City, something that we are immensely proud of.
Jersey City has always been close to my heart. As a young high schooler in the early 1990s, I was raised and formed into the person that I am today by my alma mater, St. Peter's Prep. And when it came time for me to open my own business, I knew that I wanted to open one here in Jersey City, because I wanted to give back to the city that gave so much to me. I had no idea that this city was going to become the burgeoning center for living and working that it has become today. That wasn't my focus at the time. I just knew that I wanted to be in Jersey City. So when the opportunity came, in a building right around the corner from my old alma mater, I knew that it was meant to be.
Over the years, I'm proud to say that we've led the way as an innovator for Physical Therapy treatment in Jersey City and Hudson County.
We've added specialty programs, including our McKenzie Spine program for back pain treatments and specialized programs that handle all lower extremity injuries and issues. We are the first clinic in all of Jersey City and Hudson County to be certified in the amazing new LSVT BIG program for Parkinson's Disease treatment. We are still the leading specialist in Hudson County and the only one in Jersey City that deals with the treatment of vestibular (vertigo/dizziness) issues. And we are the first in all of Hudson County and STILL the only clinic in Jersey City to offer the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill for outpatient Physical Therapy programs.
Most people think that with all these accomplishments, that there sure is an awful lot that we can hang our hats with in this clinic. But if you ask myself, or my partners Humberto Colmenares and my wife Asha Koshy, we don't really think much about those things. To us, what really matters is our patients. All of the specialties programs in the world have been nothing more than a means to accomplish our foremost goal: to help people get better. We have always prided ourselves as a clinic that is solely focused on getting people healthy again and helping our patients STAY healthy. That's why we spend the time with our patients in their treatment sessions. That's why we care so much. That's what we'll hang our hats on at the end of every day.
So to our patients, THANK YOU for allowing us to become a part of your lives for the past 10 years, for allowing us to have the pleasure of servicing you, and for helping us to create a small little community that we're proud to call the Complete Physical Rehabilitation Family.
Here's to 10 more years!
